러시아 국가 신용 등급 상향 조정 (BBB)

글로벌 신용 평가 기관 Fitch가 러시아의 국가 신용 등급을 BBB-에서 BBB로 상향 조정했다는 기사. (안정적인 전망과 함께)

Fitch 는 러시아가 1) 거시 경제의 안정성 향상, 2) 탈 에너지 가격 의존도, 3) 외부 쇼크에 의한 저항도 강화 등의 이유를 들었으며,

이에 더해 러시아의 double surplus와 낮은 공공 부채, 세무 자산 및 충분한 외화 준비금(외화 보유액) 등의 요소들이 서방의 경제 제재를 충분히 대처하게 할 것이라 믿는다고 전했다.

 

타 신용 평가 기관들도 비슷한 결과를 발표하지 싶다.

 

The international rating agency Fitch has decided to upgrade the rating of the Russian Federation from "BBB-" to "BBB", the forecast is stable. This was stated in a press release circulated by the agency on Friday. 

 

Fitch experts noted that Russia has managed to improve macroeconomic stability, reduce the country's economy’s dependence on energy prices on world markets, and maintain increased resistance to external shocks.  

 

Agency experts came to the conclusion that the measures taken by the Russian authorities will allow them to cope with the restrictive measures introduced by Western countries. 

"Fitch believes that Russia's double surplus, low public debt, tax assets and large foreign currency reserves mean that it could cope with the sanctions," the agency said. 

The first deputy chairman of the Russian government, Anton Siluanov, commented on this decision, saying that he welcomed it and hoped to increase the sovereign credit rating by other Big Three agencies.   

"In fact, the agency returned to its own assessment of the country's credit risk level in 2014, before downgrading against the background of external restrictions imposed on Russia," said the head of the Russian Ministry of Finance.

In its press release, the agency notes that investing in domestic Russian projects from the National Wealth Fund will not adversely affect the country's macroeconomic stability.  

"The basic rationale for Fitch is that the scale of these domestic investments will not be able to reverse progress in terms of improving macroeconomic stability or reducing the impact of volatility in oil prices in the economy," the agency’s experts explained.
